SIMON KENTON & JOHN Q. WARD BURIAL SITE /CHAMPAIGN COUNTY

John Quincy Adams Ward (June 29, 1830 – May 1, 1910) was an American sculptor, his sculptors/statues are placed throughout the country. His "Indian Hunter" is an outdoor bronze sculpture located at Central Park in Manhattan, New York. His wife had a replica of the sculpture to be placed there to mark his grave in Urbana. Simon Kenton was a renowned American frontiersman, soldier, and pioneer who played a significant role in the settlement of Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio.

  2. I do not place any donate or advertisements on the blog since it is truly for historical purposes. However, driving all over the state gets to be very expensive in gas costs. Last month I spent over $500 on gas, and I live on Social Security. So, it does limit my research and photography.
